The whole idea of the party was to celebrate Ion Orchard's Topman/ Topshop store reaching the 1 year old mark and to have a preview on the A/W 2010 collection.
And I was really lucky enough to score VIP invites for the event. They were gracious enough to not give me one invite but two. So naturally, Pris. came as my plus 1.
The party was held in a car park at the highest level of Ion Orchard. I thought the idea was fresh and totally cool. Frozen yogurts, coke, beers and cute delicious cocktail snacks on the house.
But if it wasn't so warm in there, the party would totally rock it. But I ain't no party planners so I'll leave all the critics to the experts.
Okay so party=great outfit right?
I was torn between two outfits- Topshop's fuchsia jumpsuit with black bandage wedges and the one that I wore. In the end, I chose the later.
Main reason being I already have it worn (Yes, I'm lazy to change out of it). And the other for how the whole look of it is. It's kinda a little classic-grudge that I'm going for. It's a little 1920s Flapper inspired with my newly cut short sleek bobbed hair, shapeless dress (in my case, a oversized shirt dress), the long heart lockets with pearl necklace and a pair of laced garter tight from Topshop. It's not too over the top flapper. And to put the grunge element, eyeliner and Rock & Roll booties.
Before the show starts, James Bent- photographer of La Mode Outré, caught up with me and request for a photo. The garter tights caught his eye. Coincidentally that's the highlight of my whole outfit. And I'm glad he appreciated it.
I'll link his post here. He got an awesome blog so do check 'em out!
Anyway, here's my take on the A/W2010 collection. Below are the looks off the runway that I adore. P.S. Pardon me! I was wrong to not bring a photographer along and so I'm sorry if the photos sucks. I promise to suck it up and drag someone who has a better camera and photoshooting skills better than me next time. Meanwhile, these are the best I offer. Sorry about it!
TOPMAN
Topman, to me feels like boy-next-door meets personal stylist.
Love how those pair of nerdy glasses and nautical draw string bag complement the outfits.
I really like how the leather jacket puts the whole outfit together
to a higher level of coolness.
J'adore both of the look! Cute cute cute!
If all paper boy dress like this, the world will be in chaos I tell you.
Topshop Unique
First off, cute knitted sweater paired off with a red beanie, printed leggings and black heels. Adorable! Feels like I'm in France really.
The two colours of the sweater are well-chosen- nude and black. And the beanie brings a pop of colour and the tights make the statement there.
Next, I love all layering done there.
I'm a fan of layering and they're done fabulously!
This outfit here is a little sporty chic.
Love the hair & make-up and layering once again!
Finally, THIS IS MY FAV. OUTFIT OF THE ENTIRE SHOW!
Love how it poofs up with the trench layered over the skirt and
how the harness totally polished the outfit to the next level of chic like
it seems to say-beneath all the tough, strong and not-to-be-messed-with attitude,
I'm still a girl within.
At the end of the show I have two newly-added items in my Shopping List.
No. 1 Those over-the-knee sheer sock/stocking
No. 2 The much loved harness (I must be crazy NOT to get it!)
A/W10 Trend: If you're gonna rock Autumn/Winter, remember to do layering, statement leggings and boots.
Also, stock up your wardrobe with a must have item- maxi dresses or skirts. Okay it's kinda weird that maxi skirts ain't on the runway. Layering over sheer maxi skirts are the best!
Lastly, take note that though it's A/W, you'd need to have a pop of colour somewhere be it a red beanie or smooching hot red lips, to give the entire look an oomph.
After party...
